China Quilt - Dec. 2009

Photographs of quilt pieces whose tops were sewn in China as part of a program of the former Church of the Brethren mission. The program offered assistance to women through handcrafts, and was in existence in the 1930s. These quilt tops were appliqued in China, then made available to churches in the United States for quilting. The pieces have been loaned to the Church of the Brethren's Global Mission Partnerships program by Marjorie Morse Kauffman of Lancaster, Pa. Photographs by Cheryl Brumbaugh-Cayford.
