Brethren World Assembly - 300th Anniversary by Glenn Riegel

Brethren World Assembly - 300th Anniversary by Glenn Riegel

A small open-air Historical Craftsman Market on the grounds of the Manor House offered various displays, including this booth giving visitors a look at a volume of the historic German-language Berleburg Bible, printed in nearby Bad Berleburg in 1728. At the time, Berleburg was a center in Germany for the Inspiration Movement that grew out of radical Pietism. Other displays at the market showed how the area's unique slate roof and wall tiles are made, offered demonstrations of woodworking, and how to make yarn from wool. A bake sale offered home-made goodies and cold drinks.
